姜博士于2000年3月加入摩托罗拉(中国)电子有限公司,任电信系统业务副总经理;同年8月担任亚太区中国战略负责人。同年10月,姜博士兼任亚太地区应用研发中心总监。该研发中心曾获全球软件能力成熟模型最高级5级(CMM Level 5)认证。2002年初起,姜博士担任现职,并于同年10月兼任摩托罗拉中国研究院的工作。
姜博士生在北京,长在台湾。早年赴美国Johns Hopkins大学攻读,于1975年获得博士学位。在大学任教4年后,姜博士转往电信行业发展,先是在一家公司从事自动测试系统软件开发工作,后于1980年加入AT&T贝尔实验室。1984年,姜博士加入Racal-Milgo,负责一大型数据网络管理系统的开发项目,后又负责带领快速分组技术的开发。1986年,他在Hayes担任研究员,直接向公司创始人和总裁负责。1990年,姜博士加入Contel Cellular(后与GTE Mobilnet合并),担任技术开发总监,负责全美第二大移动通信公司的技术开发。1997年当台湾开放无线通讯市场时,他加入KG电信公司担任运营高级副总裁。
姜博士曾于1989年获得乔治亚州大学的EMBA学位,并于1990年至1991年期间在乔治亚州大学教授国际商务课程。
Dr. John C. Chiang is MAP Vice President, Senior Director – Strategy and Business Development, Motorola (China) Electronics Limitedsupport. He is responsible for facilitating new Motorola business entering in China, including supporting Motorola Ventures activities in China. He also serves as Director of Motorola China R&D Institute, coordinating 16 Motorola research and development entitites in China.
Dr. Chiang joined Motorola (China) Electronics Limited in March 2000, as Assistant General Manager of Netwrok System Sector. In Augugst, he assumed the role of Director – China Strategy, and in October, added the role of Director – Advanced Asia-Pacific Applied Rearch Center, which received CMM Level 5 certification, the hightest software maturity capacity certification. Dr. Chiang assumed his current role since 2002, and assumed the Motorola China R&D Institute role in October.
Born in Beijing, Dr. Chiang grew up in Taiwan and studied at the Johns Hopkins Univeristy in the US. After receiving his Ph. D. in 1975, he taught 4 years in universities. He changed his career to telecommunication industry, first with an automatic testing software development company, then he jointed AT&T Bell Labs in 1980. In 1984, Dr. Chiang joined Racal-Milgo. He developed a network management system for large scale data communications netwroks and later was in charge of fast packet technology development. Dr. Chiang joined Hayes in 1986 as Research Fellow, reporting to the CEO and founder of the company. In 1990, he joined Contel Cellular, which later merged with GTE Mobilnet, as Director – Technology Development for the second largest mobile operators in the US. Dr. Chiang joined KG Telecom, a private mobile operators in Taiwan, as Senior Vice President of Operations in 1997.
Dr. Chiang received EMBA from Geogiae State Unviersity in 1989, and taught Intenational Busienss in 1990-1991 at Georgia State University.
